Harpoon Larry’s is a family owned business that has been open since 1991.
Fresh local seafood is delivered right to our back door and everything is made in house from the cocktail sauce down to our desserts. Our fresh fish and oyster varieties depend on the season and availability. Come on in and check out our fresh catch of the day at our tantalizing Raw Bar. Or grab a cold one at our other bar where we pride ourselves for having 20+ local Craft Beers on tap plus a fresh squeezed Crush Bar!
Annual Oyster Roast
In 1990 Mark Breen and I drove to Norfolk Airport. We had no reservation and our destination was to be decided. The departure screen gave us two options , New York or Miami . Having no luggage and considering the weather we opted for Florida .
A drive through the keys led us to a tiki bar in Islamorada, where I drank my first rum runner . It was in that bar that Harpoon Larry's was conceived . And though I give full credit for the concept to my partner , I'm taking credit for buying the t-shirt that had the recipe on back. Sunday we celebrate the sale of 1 million rum runners, and official count we have kept since 1991. I'm really glad we didn't go to New York .
